HERMAN’S HERMITS STARRING PETER NOONE
Herman’s Hermits, starring singer Peter Noone, landed on American shores as part of the British Invasion. Known for their jaunty beat sound and Noone’s often tongue-in-cheek vocal style, the Hermits charted with numerous transatlantic hits in the UK and in America where they racked up twenty-four consecutive weeks in the Top Ten of Billboard’s Hot 100 with five singles, including the two number ones “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” and “I’m Henry VIII, I Am” between March and August 1965. Their other international hits in the 1960s include “I’m into Something Good,” “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat,” “Something’s Happening” and “My Sentimental Friend.”

THE GRASS ROOTS
In 1965, Rob Grill and 3 others teamed up with mega-hit producer Steve Barri (The Mamas & The Papas, Tommy’s Roe, Four Tops, and Dusty Springfield) to form The Grass Roots. Since their formation The Grass Roots have gone on to chart 29 singles; 13 of which went gold followed by 2 gold albums and 1 platinum album. Their biggest hits were “Midnight Confessions” in 1968 and “I’d Wait a Million Years” in 1969.

THE BUCKINGHAMS
The Buckinghams formed in 1966 and went on to become one of the top-selling acts of 1967, charting five top 40 hits in that year alone. The trademark opening horn notes on their #1 hit, “Kind of a Drag” became a signature of the Chicago horn sound as identifiable as The Buckinghams themselves.  Other hits followed including “Don’t You Care,” “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy” and “Our Song.”
