Stephen Marley is an award-winning singer, songwriter and producer. From his solo works to family collaborations and production credits, Stephen Marley’s music has earned him eight Grammy Awards. Stephen has garnered recognition as a solo artist for his Grammy-winning albums Mind Control, Mind Control Acoustic and Revelation Part I: The Root of Life, while also receiving multiple Grammys as as a producer – most notably for Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley’s massive cross-over hit Welcome To Jamrock. The second installment of Stephen Marley’s Revelation album series, Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life, was released in 2016 on the Marley family’s Ghetto Youths International label. Whereas The Root of Life offered a traditional roots reggae album, The Fruit of Life emphasized the far-reaching impact Jamaican music has had on various genres – especially hip hop. Album guests included Rick Ross, Pit Bull, DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes, Wyclef Jean, Shaggy and more. In 2018, Stephen Marley released a five-track EP, One Take: Acoustic Jams, which showcased raw, deconstructed versions of his and his father’s original songs.
From backyard BBQs in Southern California beach towns to its rise as one of the most popular reggae rock bands in the country, Fortunate Youth remains devoted to its roots and a simple mission: Spread peace, love, and unity with music. It’s a mantra of sorts for the multi-faceted sextet from Hermosa Beach, driving a relentless thirst for live performances and an ever-evolving cache of original material dotted with influences of blues, ska, rock, world, soul, and punk.
Arise Roots was formed in Los Angeles in 2010 with the intent to create a new and unique roots-reggae band which reflects their collective passions. In 2010, the band released their first EP Lay Your Guns Down. They later received recognition with the 2013 release of their first full-length album, Moving Forward, followed by Love and War in 2014 and the popular single “Rootsman Town” featuring Capleton in 2016. In the midst of a worldwide pandemic, Arise Roots released their highly anticipated LP Pathways in June of 2020.
